Tunnels

ACO Tunnel

This HALT-2 camera trap frame was designed for an ACO tunnel. It is installed into the tunnel and out of site. This will trap inbound and outbound species. The ACO tunnel is 19″ wide and 12″ high. Notice the angle of the camera to the threshold. This does not produce a dorsal shot, but an angle shot, as the focal length is too great to shoot straight down.

Concrete Culvert

This HALT-2 camera trap frame is made of PVC piping and is designed to capture dorsal shots. Notice the camera mounted at the top, at the correct focal distance to the threshold. Also notice the guides spanning left and right to funnel target species to the threshold. This camera trap is targeting species exiting the tunnel.

No Frame, Stand alone

This HALT-2 camera trap does not have a frame. It is a stand alone in the tunnel. You must be sure to block the sides with wood, rocks or other material to ensure your species does not pass around the threshold. The camera needs to be raised enough to look down. Using wooden stakes or setting on top of bricks, or other imaginative methods. Never mind the frog picture, just there for fun.
